You may be wondering
what the term Osmosis actually means. Osmosis is the name given to
water moving through a membrane that allows the movement of water, but
does not allow the movement of one or more solutes (a solute is a molecule
dissolved in a solution). If there is equal pressure on both sides
of the membrane, the water will generally osmose from the side containing
a lower concentration of solute, to the side containing the higher concentration
of solute.
